Tropical Animal Diseases and Veterinary Public Health: Joining forces to meet future global challenges

From 4 to 8 September 2016, the first Joint International Conference of the Association of Institutions for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (AITVM) and the Society of Tropical Veterinary Medicine (STVM) will take place at the Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin. The conference will bring together animal health and production experts, senior and junior career researchers and students from all over the world, around the topic “Tropical Animal Diseases and Veterinary Public Health: Joining forces to meet future global challenges”.

Participants will address the holistic concept of “One World-One Health”. Through plenaries, parallel sessions and seminars they will contribute to approach solutions for the improvement of human health and quality of life in tropical regions through enhancement of research, training and education at local, national and global level.

The conference is organised by the Institute for Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine and the FAO-Reference Center for Public Veterinary Health of the Freie Universitaet Berlin. VSF Germany is a co-organiser and we are proud to announce our colleague from Nairobi, Dr. Nicoletta Buono, as one of the keynote speakers.

As well, the annual meeting of VSF-International’s Board and General Assembly will be organised on the side of the conference, on 9 September 2016.
