In many arid and semi-arid areas of Africa, Asia and Latin America, rural communities largely depend on their livestock for the survival. Mobility is their coping strategy to face seasonal variability and to avoid overgrazing of natural pastures.

Our projects in these areas focus on access to pastoral resources, land management and participatory planning,  conflict prevention, regeneration of pastures, market opportunities for animals and animal products, improvement of local breeds, access to animal and human health services. We develop multi-actor governance systems based on local communities to spread the grazing pressure, to facilitate access to water, to master pastoral tenure, to improve infrastructure and prevent conflicts.
