AVSF activities in Ivory Coast began in 2016 with the implementation of the EQUITE sub-regional program (covering also Ghana, Burkina, Mali and Togo). The project aims to strengthen farmers organizations and value chains actors by developing fair trade, and to test the potential for developing fair South-South supply chains.
More recently, AVSF started another regional project to support groecological transition in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Togo. This project is supported by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) within the framework of its Regional Agricultural Policy (ECOWAP).
What we do:
- Strengthening training centers and equipping farmers who wish to engage in agroecology;
- Fostering partnerships between farmers organizations and research to better support the integration of agroecological practices;
- strengthening existing networks and platforms at national and regional level to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on agroecology in West Africa.
