Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation il y a plus de 30 ans, le r\u00e9seau VSF International s\u2019inspire de l\u2019approche One Health. La vision commune \u201c Des animaux sains, des humains en bonne sant\u00e9, un environnement durable \u201d guide nos interventions dans les pays du Sud pour soutenir les populations vuln\u00e9rables dans des contextes caract\u00e9ris\u00e9s par un degr\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9 d’interd\u00e9pendance entre les humains, les animaux et l’environnement et par un acc\u00e8s insuffisant aux services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans ces contextes, et en particulier aupr\u00e8s des communaut\u00e9s qui pratiquent l’\u00e9levage, One Health offre une occasion unique de relever des d\u00e9fis complexes qui n\u00e9cessitent des r\u00e9ponses syst\u00e9miques et multisectorielles, telles que les maladies zoonotiques, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et nutritionnelle, la r\u00e9sistance aux antimicrobiens, l’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l’eau, l’assainissement et l’hygi\u00e8ne, le bien-\u00eatre \u00e9conomique et la perturbation ou le dysfonctionnement des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

En raison de la nature multidimensionnelle de ces risques, l’adoption d’une approche One Health devient particuli\u00e8rement n\u00e9cessaire pour traiter simultan\u00e9ment les diff\u00e9rentes interfaces sanitaires et obtenir des r\u00e9sultats durables.<\/strong>

Mise en \u0153uvre de One Health\u00a0\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle communautaire<\/span><\/h4>\n

VSF-International plaide pour et exp\u00e9rimente une approche One Health qui soit d\u00e9centralis\u00e9e et mise en \u0153uvre concr\u00e8tement au plus pr\u00e8s des populations et des communaut\u00e9s<\/strong>, en assurant leur implication d\u00e8s l\u2019identification des probl\u00e9matiques, et pour le d\u00e9ploiement de solutions collectives adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 chaque contexte sp\u00e9cifique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Le partenariat<\/strong> est essentiel \u00e0 la mise en \u0153uvre de l\u2019approche One Health. Forts d’une expertise reconnue en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 animale, nous cherchons \u00e0 \u00e9tablir des partenariats avec des organisations de sant\u00e9 humaine et de protection de l’environnement afin d’aborder des probl\u00e8mes complexes sous des angles multiples.<\/p>\n

Nous accordons une attention particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 l’inclusion des communaut\u00e9s locales et des organisations paysannes<\/strong>, qui ont une connaissance approfondie de leur contexte local, des d\u00e9fis et des solutions possibles et durables dans la mise en \u0153uvre locale de ces approches.<\/p>\n

Les prestataires de services locaux<\/strong>, tels que les services techniques d\u00e9concentr\u00e9s comp\u00e9tents, les agents communautaires (dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9 animale ou humaine), les gardes forestiers, les petites entreprises comme les pharmacies de village, sont des acteurs essentiels de la conception, de la mise en \u0153uvre et de l’\u00e9valuation de solutions adapt\u00e9es au contexte local. Leur accompagnement et leur mise en r\u00e9seau \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale est donc crucial pour une appropriation et une application concr\u00e8te de ce concept dans leurs territoires.

Le principe \u00ab One Health \u00bb consiste en une approche inte\u0301gre\u0301e et unificatrice qui vise a\u0300 e\u0301quilibrer et a\u0300 optimiser durablement la sante\u0301 des personnes, des animaux et des e\u0301cosyste\u0300mes.<\/p>\n

Il reconnai\u0302t que la sante\u0301 des humains, des animaux domestiques et sauvages, des plantes et de l\u2019environnement en ge\u0301ne\u0301ral (y compris des e\u0301cosyste\u0300mes) est e\u0301troitement lie\u0301e et interde\u0301pendante.<\/p>\n

L\u2019approche mobilise de multiples secteurs, disciplines et communaute\u0301s a\u0300 diffe\u0301rents niveaux de la socie\u0301te\u0301 pour travailler ensemble a\u0300 fomenter le bien-e\u0302tre et a\u0300 lutter contre les menaces pour la sante\u0301 et les e\u0301cosyste\u0300mes. Il s\u2019agit e\u0301galement de re\u0301pondre au besoin collectif en eau potable, en e\u0301nergie propre, en air pur, et en aliments su\u0302rs et nutritifs, de prendre des mesures contre le changement climatique et de contribuer au de\u0301veloppement durable.<\/p>\n

The common vision \u201cHealthy animals, healthy people, healthy environment\u201d guides our interventions in the Global South to support vulnerable populations in contexts characterized by a high degree of interdependence between humans, animals and the environment and poor access to services.<\/strong> In these contexts, and especially among livestock-dependent communities, One Health offers a unique opportunity to address complex challenges that require systemic and multi-sectoral responses, such as zoonotic diseases, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, Food and Nutrition Security, water, sanitation and hygiene, economic wellbeing and the loss, disruption, or dysfunction of ecosystems. <\/strong> Due to the multi-dimensional nature of these risks, the adoption of a One Health-based approach becomes necessary in order to address different health interfaces simultaneously and achieve sustainable and lasting results.<\/strong> [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_column_inner type=\"4_4\"][et_pb_text admin_label=\"Text\" background_layout=\"light\" text_orientation=\"left\"]<\/p>

One Health implementation at community level<\/h3>

\u00a0 In One Health implementation, partnership<\/strong> is key. Having a recognized expertise in animal health, we seek to establish partnerships with human health and environmental organizations in order to tackle complex problems through multiple angles. We pay special attention to the inclusion of local communities and farmers' organizations<\/strong>, who have a deep understanding of their local context, the challenges and the solutions that are possible and sustainable. Local service providers<\/strong>, such as decentralized technical services, community-based workers (either in Animal Health or in Human Health), rangers, forest guards, small-scale businesses as village pharmacies, are essential stakeholders in the design, implementation and evaluation of locally-adapted solutions.
